My guinea pig needs a playmate?

I have a male guinea pig I heard that they get lonely and I want to get my guinea pig a friend, but I heard 2 male guinea pigs will fight each other because they are territorial or something, and I don't want to get a female guinea pig because they might try and mate, which I really don't want them to. So what should I do?
