Why do european and asian have quite different appearance?

european and asian have the same kind of ancestor long time ago before they left africa.but now european and asian looks quite different ,asian means chinese japanese korean not pakistain or indian .pakistain and indian are closer to european .it is because of europe is cold?but north korea is also cold,and japan is also cold,and japan is like europe covered by forest,is it because of elevation? and asia and europe have the same elevation. but anyway can anyone tell me is it because of elevation?
