Hello, I have had my little angel, Harriet, for the last 13 years and needless to say she has had a very exciting life. She is a Euorpean Shorhair mix I got from the humain socirty 12 or so years ago and has been my best friend since. About 2 years ago her playmate, our dog, passed away of brain cancer he was 15 when he passed and since then we have moved from our nice big 3200 sq ft home on an acer of property in Idaho to a smaller home in order to start a new job in New Mexico. In addtion we spend much more time at work (my husband and I were students)m less time at home and there are less people ( we lived with my parents while at school) with her. It breaks my heart that every time we come home she runs to the door and cries and beggs to played with (which I do love to do with her) but seems like the long day alone has been a torment. My parents bought 2 new puppies which she did not take to and in the past she has had mixed reactions to other cats. Should I get her a friend to play with? Or is that now abandoning 2 animals all day? What would I do if they did not get along? I have tried giving her window shelves a fish to watch even bought her 3 new interactive toys! Need help from military wives! Please!?

So my fiance is in training right now in another state because hes going to iraq for a year. When he first left he would text me as much as he could and tell me he loved me all the time and that he misses me and all that good stuff and i would always wake up to goodmorning texts. Lately he hasnt been texting me except for maybe 2 or 3 times a day and when he does its kind of just one worded things and it seems like he doesnt really want to talk. We were also skyping a few times a week and now when he actually does do it, which is rare, he acts like he dreads it and we talk for literally like a minute and he tells me he wants to go to bed. He told me a few days ago that hes acting that way to "emotionally detach" homself for when he goes to iraq and he wont be so focused on whats going on back home. How to prevent pregnancy without leaving my dog at home?

I spend the night at my fathers on Saturdays and usually go over for a few hours one or two other days as well. My 11 month old dog goes with me, and after an initially rocky start, has made best friends with my dad's 6 month old yorkie. They go crazy for each other and she looks downright depressed for a while when we go back to my moms. i hear he does too after she leaves. On Saturdays she sees me packing up her food and toys and goes nuts. The only problem is she's a 7.4 lb Pom/chi and Teddy is a 3 lb yorkie and neither are fixed and they never will be due to health reasons. I really don't want to leave her home since she's due to go into heat soon, and would hate to keep them separated if I did take her. She has no other close doggy friends and just lives with two crotchety old cats. Teddy has no friends either and lives with a two large 13 year old neutered dogs and a cat, so he has no playmates at all either besides her. Would it work to put a sanitary diaper on her or a belly band on him? I am also not willing to use medical means of birth control as they raise the risk of canine mammary cancer, but I have absolutely NO intention of ever letting them breed

Its a dark green, really soft, and is like a normal 3 seater with an ottoman that you can make attatched to the couch by using the long cushion or using the small cushion and making it detached. it comes from a home with no smokers, but we do have cats and had a dog. Also you can get him to pay attention to you by taking him on walks and randomly stopping the make him sit. Don't go on until he sits no matter how long it takes. This shows him you are the boss and have control over him. Also don't baby talk him and when you want him to obey your commands use a firm assertive voice, and never get down to his level or rough play with him again it shows him you are his playmate not his master there fore he does not have to listen to you. When are walks make him walk at your heels and don't let him get lead.(alpha gets lead).

When someone doesn't react or they ignore you it can be worse then having an all out screaming match. When someone can be that emotionless it means that they may not care to much about you "sorry to be harsh". It also could mean that she doesn't know what to say or how to handle things depending on how she feels about you. It seems like she maybe a very busy person and that the relationship has not been going on long enough for you and her to be #1 priority on her list. I would simply say to her that you really want to be with her, but you feel like she has not made time for you or time to give the relationship a chance to turn into more. I have always wanted to to join the Girl Scouts of America, but my time has passed and now I am too old. And by too old I mean 15.6. I was wondering if there is anyone out there who can help me brainstorm ideas for amazing community service opportunites. I am bilingual if that is helpful in Korean and English. I enjoy being outside and working with animals but I am up for doing anything. Is my dog protective?

She is an all-muscle German Shepherd/English Setter mix. She's six years old now and has been leash aggressive her whole life. We've been to 2 group classes, a one-on-one with a trainer at our house, and even an 8 week long boot camp. None have been able to fix this, and we just don't have the money to throw away on something that won't work. We talked to a dog trainer about it and he said she could be protective of me (I'm the dog walker of the family) on walks. She loves people on walks. She smiles and wags her tail and tries to go up to anyone she sees. If she sees a dog she lunges and jumps forward as much as the leash lets her, barking loudly and aggressively. She doesn't growl or anything. I turn her away and walk in the other direction and she marks her territory right away, as if telling the dog not to come near us. She whines a little and always turns around to look for the dog. Is she "protecting" me from other dogs? This got a little better when we got our other dog, but they don't play or anything, so I'm her playmate. We used to have a black lab puppy over that she loved, but he moved away last year. Our neighbor has a mini poodle that used to be friends with her, but it hasn't been over in a long time and I'm afraid she'll hurt it, even though she was really nice and gentle when she came over.

Girls are great but those boys were your babies and deserved as much love as a little girl would have gotten. My 3yr. old chihuahua just had her very 1st littler and my 2 other female dogs are curious. What do I do?

I have 3 female dogs and one just had her very first litter three days. Obviously I'm not going to just let my other two female dogs get close to the new puppies but need to know how long I'm supposed to keep them away before it's okay to introduce them and allow them to be around the new mama again. One of them now walks around with a stuff toy and treats it like a real baby and they both whimper all the time when they hear the new puppies. Mama is doing awesome and is very tentative and usually has a calm and loving nature but due to hormones and motherhood her mood has shifted and she is very protective but that's understandable I just feel bad for her once very good playmates!

So my fianc� is in submarines, in the navy, and legit works 16 hours everyday 7 days a week. He is never home. He is tired, emotionally detached, and angry. Just recentley I got diagnosed with OCD and many other anxiety disorders. My mind has always really scewed things and made me very afraid of commitment, people, and scared of myself. About a year ago I was worried that the world would end, then that thought disapated. Then I was worried that i was blasphamous and full of sin, and scared of the devil. Then that went away after a couple months, me realizing that was very irrational. Then I woke up one day, and was scared me and my boyfriend were'nt meant for eachother and our relationship is fizzling. We didnt have a major fight, we get along really well, we love eachother. My mind has just been in constant battle with the thought for over a month. It is seriously the first thing I think about when I get up in the morning, and the last thing I think about when I go to bed. It also causes me to have major diahreah :( But now that this is going on and I'm having all these problems and anxiety about it, it really makes me think. Maybe its my gut saying HOLY **** what are you doing??? Yes I will admit that when our relationship first started I was kind of skeptical because I thought I might be too much for him. But the more we hung out, the more I liked him, and the more I cared about him. I see good things in him, and he is absolutley wonderful. I wouldn't change him for the world :) But now my anxiety is making me doubt everything, and its starting to make me become detached from him and my relationship. Its so incredibly sad :( I love him, but the anxiety and obsessive thoughts are making it fizzle. My negative thoughts are killing me, because I think if we broke up, my mind would find something else to worry about. I guess I'm just hoping Im doing the rite thing. Im going to start going to a therapist once a week to talk about past traumatice exeriences, and I just started taking anxiety medicine. EMERGENCY! BABY BUNNY IS SICK!?

I got a baby bunny, 2 months old a couple days ago and he is doing great. Happy & healthy. We decided that we wanted to get him a playmate this morning to keep him company during the day, we went and got him a friend which may or may not be his sibling, we got them from the same breeder who said they may be from the same litter. They look like twins and laid together/ cleaned each other the moment they got back together. The bunnys are Dwarf Lionheads and are both tiny only 2 months old. The new one played around today a bit was very happy when we first got them together. They are both on the same food that they were in the pet shop, so no changes in pellets. But we did give them treat chews today which is our mistake. We believe thats what caused the new one to get this way. He has very bad diarrhea nonstop. I took him out onto my bed and am trying to syringe him water with vita-drops in it. I've gotten a little in his system and he seems just like he would be normally, walking around the bed cleaning himself and the water i get around his mouth. But that diareah keeps coming out. I need some home remedies you guys! please anything will help. i cant take any risks here hes just a baby barely lived two months. Really worried bout my gf 3 weeks after birth HELP?

After a text book pregnancy Lucy gave birth to our son. The birth was difficult after 18 hours she finally had to have an emergency c-section Lucy was petrified of having a epidural and was very distressed but it was the only option. After she couldn't breadtfeed, the baby wouldn't latch on and when he did he wouldn't stay on the nurses response was that Lucy wasn't trying hard enough and gave her a lecture about how breast is best and that the baby wading missing out. Lucy was heart broken but tried to hide it. Lucy seemed to be detached from the baby she only held him when someone gave him to her. She never talks to him, she spoke to her bump all the time during pregnancy. She wasn't eating much. I have a 3 week old male rat. Everyone says that they are very social animals and so I plan on getting another small pet for it. I am going to build a giant cage with levels and everything (mainly designed for a rat). Need some advice on what to say to stop her walking with me?

I have two dogs, one is a puppy and i am currently in the process in the training her. There is a woman across the road with a dog and she likes to come out and walk her dog with me and mine as she thinks it's good for her dog to have some playmates. Sight after dog's eye popped out?

My 10 yr. old chihuahua got in a scruffle with my friend's bigger dog. Her eye popped out of its socket. I rushed her to the vet and she was in surgery within 10 minutes. The vet placed the eye back in its socket, sewed her eyelids shut, and 10 days later, we had the sutures removed. He said it would take a while for the muscles and nerves to heal. Her eye physically got a good report. No detached retina, no outward damage to optic nerve, lens is great, etc. My question is--she is blind in that eye at the moment. Does anyone know or have had this experience with their dog as to how long it usually takes for the sight to come back? (if it does at all?) I know her optic nerve obviously had some damage when the eye popped out due to immense swelling around it. I know it is in "shock" mode now and takes a while to heal. I was just curious as to how long. I also am aware she may never get her sight back in that eye due to the damage not healing properly. Nerves are delicate. If anyone has had this experience, how long did you have to wait until you saw signs of vision again in your dog's eye? Thank you.

Why are my baby bullfrogs showing up out of the pond dead?

I have a pond in my backyard (12 to 14 hundred gallons) with about 30 gold fish and a school of minnows. I also have water lilies and several other water plants with a bio filter, huge waterfall, and 3 UV lights. Last summer, I got a ton (75-100) tadpoles and they are now growing up to adult form. In the last week, I have found 6 in my yard and they are dead. I don't think birds are getting them because when I find them, they are not mangled or detached, they are whole. I have not used any kind of fertilizers on the grass or any other chemicals. I do have a lot of algae growing and am trying to get my pond water to clear up but I don't want to use any chemicals to do so. I am at a loss and hate to see them die. Any suggestions?

A lot of these modern day horror films lack any type of storyline. I feel offended when this happens...?

First off, I am 18, short and slim, and my ethnicity consists of 1/2 Japanese, 5/12 Korean, and 1/12 Black which brings me to this issue. People are always asking me my ethnicity and I always tell them what I just said or I'll just say Korean, Japanese, and Black. When I say "Black", I get these weird looks like "what?" and "You've got to be kidding me!" It's because I don't look Black AT ALL. I'm pregnant, what is up with my husband?

So, we have been married for over a year and have a great relationship. I'm currently in my eighth month of pregnancy. We are best friends, get along great, and he has been wonderful for the most part. Raising two puppies? Why do people so BAD IDEA?

Well I'm in the same predicament. Only I have two male pitbulls. I had a golden retriever which is close to the problems and attitudes of ur lab. Never had a husky but I am going to school for vet tech and have always been interested in dogs. Number 1: ppl say its a bad idea because of the amount of tension and stress it causes. U r doin right by separating them and giving each their own time. Number two: don't let them even begin to fight because it will cause competition and slight domination in one if your dogs. Which at sum point, the dominant dog might test u or the one getting bullied will lash out on the other one. Kinda like Wat ppl do wen being bullied. Number three: research each breed. Labs r natural hunters and retrievers. They tend to be more hyper and smell out where the garbage is, where ur shoes r, etc. They don't really stop chewing till they r two. Find games that let het natural instincts take hold. She will be more attentive and eager to learn and play. The husky, I know they r workers and also very hyper. U have to walk them to burn out their energy. Once u master each dogs bad habits then it will be ok to train them to do something together. The best thing about ur situation is u have two similar dogs that can relate to each other with playing and training. Luckily u didn't get a poodle and a husky. Lol. Also, the success stories I heard have been from professional trainers and also regular ppl. U have to give each dog confidence and comfort. They each have to know u r the alpha and they r equal.

To start off, I'm a 16-year old male, I exercise daily, I eat right and my lifestyle has been good until a few weeks ago. For the past few weeks, my anxiety has been just horrible . Every day is another struggle for me. At night I feel detached from my surroundings. I can't fall asleep because every time I go to sleep because of my shortness of breath. I have frequent nightmares and vivid dreams that leave me waking up in the middle of the night gasping for air. I don't even want to go to sleep at night because I know that i'll have another nightmare. Throughout the day I don't feel like myself, I feel as if I'm just floating around. I hate feeling this way, It makes me feel like I have a rare and serious disease that will eventually kill me. I just feel empty. I also have frequent obsessive thoughts about my breathing and my heart beat, like if my heartbeat gets weaker, I immediately think that there's something wrong with me. I have recently come into possession of a laptop that was destroyed by its previous owner. The screen was completely ripped from the hinges and the keyboard has fallen off as well. We got a Jack Russel/Rat Terrier mix last year. About 3 months later we ended up getting another Jack Russel to keep her company. I think it helped our Jack Rat as we're gone much of the day. Sophie seems more content with her friend Roush around. They bonded very quickly and have since become a rather formidable team to reckon with. Being Jacks, their energy level is through the roof, and we're never quite sure what we'll come home to on a daily basis. 2 computer chairs 1 couch 4 sets of curtains and several power cords later, we still wouldn't trade them for anything... most days.

Mistake getting another puppy, your first puppy is not trained, the bladder is just grown, adding a new puppy will undo all the work you did with potty training. The stress of new schedules will mess up both puppies. It is only 1 hour for each month of age with puppies, so a 2 month old puppy can only be alone/hold its potty for 2 hours at the most. No one will be there for either puppy, this is a terrible thing to do to either of these puppies. You can't train a puppy in 3 days. I hope this question is one of those joke questions I just don't understand. I hope your question is just a bad joke. This would be terrible for both puppies, I hope it is just a joke question. Please don't get another puppy, please don't be that cruel. I take my older dogs outside and then introduce the new puppy outside so if anyone has to pee they do it outside. It takes older dogs a while to warm up to new puppies, usually a few months. The baby teeth come out between 4 and 6-months-old and the puppy gets a little bigger then. While I expect them to work some things out on their own, I step in when anyone does a behavior I don't allow. Be fair, if the older dog starts it, correct that, if the younger one starts it, correct that. I use the command "shame" so I point at the one who started it, snap my fingers, and use a command "shame" when they behave, I praise them. I use Charlee Bears for potty training, so when the new puppy goes potty, she gets a treat, and so do the other dogs. The puppy learns to share treats and that she is not more important than the other dogs. I do everything as a group. Potty, leashes, training, walks, play time, combing hair, it is all done as a group. You can give an older dog extra attention while you are waiting for a puppy to go potty. While I expect them to work some things out, I correct any behavior I don't allow, the second it starts, they are each others pack now, but it is my job to step in and correct any behaviors I don't allow. It just takes time but you get out of them what you put into them, so hang in there.

It should always be about them, not the parents. For the first and possibly the second birthday, its understandable to invite only family friends, because those are the people who care the most about the child, then, as soon as the child begins making friends, they should be invited along with a few of the closest adults who really care about the child, like godparents, close family friends, etc. It should never be friends who are just the parents friends and really couldnt care about the child. With my kids, for their first couple birthdays it was just family friends and family, but they were all close friends who cared about the child, they werent there for me, then when they were three and started socializing more and started preschool we invited their preschool friends. I think that you should remind your sister that this is her childs birthday, not hers, on her birthday she can invite her friends, but this is her childs birthday and should be centered around them, including their friends, not her friends and their older kids who are only there for the cake and because their parents said they had to.

i had tried to seperate them ,making a play area in basement for cat, cat has a mini dog playmate as well as well as working with my little one by showing animal bites that were accidental in videos and so on, i finally had chosen to possibly declaw or find a new home and was in the process of making arrangements for either of those though it was heartbreaking as the cat is amazing and was rescued by me and her from the banks of a river 8 months ago and such a part of the family though still a bit wild as animals can tend to be and i put him out after the last scratch he never returned i am sad and i wonder what else i should have done..he started 2 spray as well lately due surely to a neighbors cat that had broken in to my basement via the dryers vent and sprayed the basement in multitude and i was going 2 get him spayed at the vet this week as well...4 this new problem is it possible the other cats odd behavior and roaming around outside spiked a little more than wild in my cats behavior in the recent history i described..as it seems i was closer to domesticating him up until 2 months ago via scratches, when these neighbors moved in? as well they just moved out this week and took their cat..if he comes back should i try again hoping??

What is wrong with my cat? He's acting weird?

I've had my cat Socks for 6 yrs. For the last year he has been an only cat because his brother died. About a month ago I decided to get him a playmate because I know how much he loved his brother. It took 3 weeks for them to get along. He was very stubborn. So, for the last 2 weeks Socks and the new kitten, Boots have been great buddies. But today something happened. For some reason that I have no clue about, he starting growling and hissing at the new kitten! They stay indoors and Socks is neutered, Boots isn't old enough yet. I got home about 5:00, my kids wanted to play outside so I left the door open and the 2 cats were just sitting at the door looking out. About 30 min or so later, Socks ran under the table and starting getting very aggressive towards Boots. Socks always gets upset when he sees a strange cat outside, you think he saw a cat outside and triggered this? I don't know what to do. Its really bad. He is hissing and growling as I type. Boots, the kitten is staying away from him because he knows something is wrong with Socks. Any advice?

I'm stressing out and going insane. What should I do about my relationship?

Okay, so I've been in a relationship with a girl for over 9 months now, and at first it felt like the best thing ever, now it's stressing me out. It's something about her that just really, really turn me off at times. She makes me dislike stuff that I was once interested in. Like, I've always had a good relationship with god, and I always felt like he has a plan for is all. But the way she slang god around, using him against everything that she doesn't agree with morally, annoys me. I was stressed out before we hooked up but not so much. She's blaming my zodiac sign for the way I act towards her, not knowing it's her that's making me act that way. I'm an Aquarius, and she claims my personality fits the role of an Aquarius, as far as being stressed out and detached in our relationship.
