A question about the media and portrayals of asian men in the U.S?

ok now days is it true hollywood and american media (cuz no other place does this) still try to make eastern asian men look bad? Or is it changing..? I've seen some films and tv shows that positively portray asian men. Most of them are korean, hence s korea has a different relation with U.S than china, etc...anyway thoughts?
