How do you get a guinea pig to love you?

I just got a new guinea pig. I'm working on getting her a playmate so she's not lonely while I'm at school. But I would like for her to like me. Like learn her name or at least greet me. Basically i don't want her to run away everytime I get up and i certainly don't want her to be afraid of me. Please help me! :)
