Is this normal for a gerbil?

Sounds like she's especially connected with you, since she gets a lot of attention from you and you're like her cage mate. Some gerbils enjoy being up when their human is up, some don't. I've had multiple gerbils who have done this before as well, and usually it's the ones that are closest with me.
